ThePeoplesMusicStore

As you know I am kind of a fan of The People’s Music Store. They have a nice collection of music, although I was sad to see that some stuff was available through iTunes and not through TPMS. Examples are:

  • Go Bang! and E.S.P. stuff
  • Lots of Undergroud Resistance material
  • Tresor label stuff
  • Congo Natty / Rebel MC things
  • Finally, more and more content is becoming inaccessible for user from different countries. XL Recordings was wiped out for Dutch users for example

Well, who knows these things will get fixed. One nice feature that seems to be around the corner is an embeddable player (just like Bleep has).

Aciddome recommends B12 compilation

“The B12 Records Archive” is a 7 volume double CD series collecting the entire B12 Records music archive from 1990-2005 including 96 tracks and 27 previously unreleased tracks.

There are four great B12 compilations out already. I recommend to check them out in: The Aciddome MP3 Collection.

More info:

UPDATE: B12 Archive Volume 4 is now also available.

Aciddome down

Aciddome has broken down. Trying to fix things as you read.

Some life saving tricks for moving between hosts, in this case from powweb to dreamhost.

Recursively download everything except when you already have the file:

wget -r -nc ftp://usr:pwd@ftp.powweb.com/htdocs/mixes/

Re-assign certain users to posts because they have another user_id number now in the db:

UPDATE `wp_table_posts` SET `post_author` = 1 WHERE `post_author` = 2

Search/replace plugins for wordpress like: Search & Replace

Go Bang! and ESP mix

download or stream

Señor Coconut’s Classics

You probably know about Señor Coconut’s Latin interpretations of Kraftwerk classics. I recently ran into another Coconut Album which includes makeovers from hits as “Sweet Dreams” (Eurythmics) and “Moscow Disco”. Check it out here.

Article about Acid @ Utrecht

In the NL30 Magazine there is a small article (two pages) about the current Acid scene in Utrecht. I have included the pages concerned in the link below.
