XTC Dangerous?

There have been several studies showing the danger of XTC (MDMA) to the brain. One of those, it turns out, didn’t even use MDMA in their experiment.

This is not the first report of bad research in the substance abuse area. Many times these kind of studies are set out with a pre-determined outcome in mind (otherwise they don’t get funded). The whole research area is a good example of bad science.

Emzetter live in Calantsoog

ceesa.jpgAfter the succesvolle back-to-back dj-set with AED on the vrijgezellenfeest another performance bij MZR. This time on a secret (?) location somewhere on the beach of Noord-holland. He will playand tweak live some tracks he made 2 years ago after moving to Amsterdam and realizing that he didnt have cable-tv in his house (this while it was the time of jumping people from not-anymore-existent buildings and to much bushes on tv).
Anyway go check that ish and bring your girlfriends and your university proffesors too because it will be high intelectual with a flirt to m’s influences from techno, elektro, minimal classical and jazz…

Pim Parade Pictures

DSC00200.jpg Riecko.com has published some fine pictures of the party last Sunday. Go check them out now.

Start a weblog

If you ever wanted to start a weblog (like this one) I can highly recommend the TypePad service. These people made MovableType, what I am using now, and are now offering an advanced version of that with more functionality and the same ease-of-use.

So, there you go, this was my advertisement for them, because I love their free software so much.

Street-Artists Beware

Tough to compete with this collection:

Music and movies have fallen prey to the digital pirates roaming the internet, but galleries are now being warned that fine art may also be within their sights. All 2300 paintings owned by the UK’s National Gallery have now been digitised in exquisite detail, as part of a print-on-demand reproduction service. The image files will be sent to other printers via the internet, giving pirates the chance to pounce. But the images have no digital copy protection at all.

Summer Dayz

Due to the nice wheather traffic on the AcidNet may be lower then usual. Perhaps the Kardinal can step in because he needs to sit behind computer screens more often then anyone else I know!

AcidNet Logo

I was thinking about a nice logo or patron for AcidNet. Suddenly I remembered Archie the Man of Steel from old comic books that my grandmother had lying around when we were young.

Shortly, Archie is a robot from the 50′s / 60′s, with superb qualities such as incredible strength, telescopic arms, very wise creators and is always working for the good cause. The ideal AcidNet logo if you ask me.

An extensive search on the Internet made me see this in a whole new light.

Archie is currently known as Acid Robot Archie. Check out Google youself to find out the same as I did if you don’t believe it. See also the image.

Now there is no discussion possible. Who better can be the guardian angel for AcidNet? Suggestions are welcome in the comments, but this is hard to beat.

Emzetter – New subscriber

Yes, A new subscriber on Acidnet
Emzetter!!!

From now on I will post also some interesting and less interesting stuff on the allmighty Acidnet!

I am the Emzetter also known as MZR. I live in Amsterdam and I like the sun. I make noises, sounds and sometimes music. Besides that i am interested in graffiti and urban-guerillastuff, drugs (don’t do it!!!) and simple philosophy!!! One of the things I will log on Acidnet are my musical activities and sometimes links to my latest tracks and snippets. You can also expect some stupid and weird newsposts but I will be carefull with that because I know there are very critical people around Acidnet

So enjoy Acidnet and keep the hype alive!!!

on mzr.nl you can find my latest musical and visual snippets/tracks…

Happy Birthday Acidnet

What does it look like?

A weblog indeed. That’s what it is. I called it Acidnet.

It makes it easy for me to do updates and maintain the Aciddome. I must say I am rather curious if it will work also with the “Comments” fields. Everybody got so used to the guestbook the last 5 years. So, that will not go away!

The rest of the aciddome site might change towards AcidNet. The layout etc of acidnet will be worked on.

PS – This is posted: 2003-03-30 03:03:03

You know why!

There are a bunch of categories:

  • music: about music, listening, collecting, and making
  • acidnet: about this site
  • agenda: what will be coming that might interest us
  • philosohy: the only dutch section!
  • images

Suggestions are welcome. Use the “Comments” link at the end of this post.
